PROGRAMS
The department has presented the DARE (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) program since 1996. Lieutenant Darin Baker is a certified DARE instructor. This project is conducted in conjunction with the Valley Grove School District. Funding is limited for this DARE program, State subsidies have been cut and this program is maintained thru funding by the Borough of Sugarcreek and Valley Grove School District.
Officers also routinely speak at scouting events, community events, business's, private and public clubs to include crime prevention, safety, bicycle safety, narcotics presentations, including methamphetamine along with explosives and safety in relation to the public. K-9 demonstrations are also conducted.
